What Is Neo Robot?
Neo is a humanoid robot, which means it is built to look and move like a human. It can walk, carry objects, and even help with chores such as cleaning, cooking, and fetching items. Unlike traditional robots used in factories, Neo is specially made for home use, designed to fit in seamlessly with your household environment.
How Does Neo Make Life Easier?
The main goal of Neo is to assist people with their daily routines. For example, it can:
• Carry groceries from one room to another
• Help in cooking or cleaning
• Water your plants
• Carry out conversation and provide personalised assistance
Neo works autonomously, which means it can perform many tasks on its own without needing constant guidance. It can be controlled via voice commands or through a mobile app, making it very easy to use even for beginners.
What Are Neo’s Special Features?
Here are some key features that make Neo stand out:
• Lightweight and Strong: Weighs about 30 kilograms (66 pounds) but can lift over 68 kilograms (150 pounds).
• Safe and Friendly Design: Its exterior has a soft, plush look with customizable colors like Tan, Gray, and Dark Brown, helping it blend into home settings.
• Quiet Operation: Works quietly at just 22 decibels, quieter than most household appliances.
• Flexible Movement: Hands with 22 degrees of freedom and soft polymer bodies enable smooth and gentle movements, ensuring safety while interacting with humans.
How Much Does Neo Cost?
You have two options to bring Neo into your home:
• Buy it outright for $20,000
• Subscribe for $499 per month
Pre-orders are now available, with shipments expected to start in 2026.
Privacy and Safety Considerations
While Neo promises convenience, there are some privacy considerations to keep in mind. The robot has cameras and AI software that could learn from your home environment. The company assures that remote operators can only control Neo with your permission, and they blur faces and objects to protect privacy. Still, some people might feel uncomfortable with the idea of a robot that could see inside their homes.
The Future of Home Robots
The launch of Neo by 1X marks an exciting step toward turning science fiction into everyday reality. This robot offers a glimpse of how homes could soon be filled with intelligent helpers, making chores easier and giving people more time for what they love.
